Every year, the largest unofficial charitable holiday known as #GivingTuesday kicks off the giving season. This special day – designed to restore the spirit of the season – was in response to the commercialism of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. This year, education supporters will have the chance to double their donation to local schools.
A team of local philanthropists are standing by to match up to a $1,000 every hour of Giving Tuesday for a total of $24,000! Justin Hirnisey, Executive Director of the Hamilton Southeastern Schools Foundation explains, “The Foundation is thrilled to continue the annual tradition of showing around the clock support of our educators on Giving Tuesday. Make sure to donate then post your #HSSFunselfie on social media to let teachers, coachers, counselors, nurses, bus drives, food service staff, and administrators know how much they mean to students and how they make a difference every day.”
Michelle Fullhart, HSE School Board Member and one of the challenge donors, shares, “Whether funding a remarkable school based program like Mindfulness, introducing students to a new STEAM opportunity, opening another student scholarship, or writing a district grant proposal, everything HSSF does is made possible by our generous community that values education. I am proud to be involved with this effort to encourage collective impact.”
Michelle is joined by fellow philanthropists Dr. Allen and Melissa Bourff, Bud and Karen Colglazier, Joe and Florie Eaton, Jon Kroehler Family, Kurt and Cathy Meyer Family, Bill French, Michelle and Greg Fullhart, Mike and Paula Peterson, Todd and Denise Huston, Angela Ostrowski, Brad Banks Family, Jeff and Jill Schwarz, Julie Ragsdale, Susan Binford, David Becker Family, Tim Mossing, Klynt Brummett, Karin Cook, Heidi and Sean Leonard, John and Amy Delucia, Mike and Stephanie Cook, Nick and Ronda Weybright, and anonymous donors in making a charitable commitment to every student, every grade, every school!
On Tuesday, December 3, 2019 – the Tuesday following Thanksgiving – education advocates are encouraged to help the Hamilton Southeastern Schools Foundation meet the $24,000 challenge!
